The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Columbia University School of Nursing is looking to hire 1 short-term casual to provide survey research support for several NIH-funded projects in the areas of primary care, the healthcare workforce, and racial and ethnic health disparities in chronic diseases.

The selected incumbents will work with other researchers to achieve key survey research tasks. The candidate will work closely with the team to support tasks across the data collection process, from survey preparation to screening and recruitment,

Depending on project needs, additional hours may be possible (the limit is 20 hours/week across all casual positions at Columbia University).

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • supporting survey preparation and implementation;
  • supporting data collection, including outreach and incentive distribution;
  • assisting with data cleaning, preparation, management, and analysis;
  • assisting with related literature reviews, and grant, manuscript, and presentation preparation;
  • participating in research meetings;
  • performing other related duties as assigned.

This position is grant-funded and continued employment will be contingent upon the grant.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's diploma or equivalent in education plus current enrollment at Columbia University.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of/experience working in a health-related field;
  • Experience with or interest in research projects, particularly survey data collection, management, and analysis;
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills;
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • A background and/or experience with health-related research is highly preferred. Experience with qualitative methods (interview design, coding, etc.) A master's degree in a related field (complete or in progress) is highly preferred.
