Position Summary
The School of Nursing is looking to hire a Columbia University student to assist (primarily in-office, but occasionally remotely) with the "Health Disparities in Hospice in Nursing Homes (Hospice in NH)" study. This study will address the gaps in knowledge about racial and ethnic disparities in nursing home hospice use, quality of hospice care, and end-of-life outcomes. The candidate will work with a team of researchers at the Center for Health Policy at Columbia University School of Nursing.
Responsibilities
Duties will include:
- Participating in recruitment activities including:
- Verifying contact information for nursing homes and preparing mailings;
- Recruiting nursing homes through phone calls and emails;
- Assisting with data entry and data cleaning;
- Assisting in developing posters and presentations.
- Conducting literature searches and systematic reviews in Covidence.
- Attending weekly research-related meetings (via Zoom), and;
- Performing other related duties, as assigned.
This is a grant-funded position and continued employment is contingent upon the grant.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree and a currently enrolled Columbia University student.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work well in a team. Familiarity with Microsoft Access databases. Previous research experience is desired.
