Morgan Stanley Strategic Client Management - Relationship Management - Analyst in New York, New York

Strategic Client Management (SCM) is responsible for identifying and facilitating cross-selling business opportunities between Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) and the Institutional divisions at Morgan Stanley. Within SCM, the Relationship Management Group (RMG) sources business opportunities for Wealth Management, MSIM, and ISG by utilizing the Firm’s relationships with key MS business partners.

The position provides an opportunity to gain a broad perspective of investment banking, wealth management and client coverage across the firm. Attractive candidates should have an interest in (1) understanding the full suite of investment banking, sales & trading, wealth management and investment management services we provide to our clients and (2) advancing the firm’s efforts to broaden and strengthen its relationships with legal, consulting, and audit partners. The candidate will be expected to think analytically, be detail oriented and client-centric, and should possess (or must quickly develop) a robust knowledge of the landscape within Morgan Stanley’s IBD, Global Capital Markets (GCM) and MSIM divisions as well as MSWM.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as sales support contact and regularly interface with investment bankers, MS management, and financial advisors while also introducing MS capabilities to Morgan Stanley external relationships/clients
  • Ensure business opportunities provided to MS by external parties are properly monitored and tracked in appropriate team tools
  • Manage introductions and relationships, providing value-added feedback to all relevant parties as appropriate
  • Conduct strategic and organizational analysis to support the team in identifying new business opportunities across Morgan Stanley, including preparing presentation and reporting materials for senior management
  • Update various pipelines, group metrics and cross-divisional revenue and asset databases
  • Maintain a comprehensive list of the firms’ external third-party vendor relationships in an effort to identify new business opportunities
  • Be results oriented and quickly turn around high-quality work in a fast paced environment

Qualifications Required Skills and Personal Attributes: - Bachelor's degree required and solid financial services internship experience. Requires 1 - 3 years’ professional experience in financial services with an understanding of Investment Banking services or working with Financial Advisors.
- Proven success in delivering high-quality deliverables and working on multiple projects simultaneously - Self-starter who will take initiative, learn quickly and work independently - Basic understanding and experience in project management - High level of attention to detail and organization, with excellent written and verbal communication skills - Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic - Team-oriented, with high level of administrative and interpersonal professionalism - A track record of success and a demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and discretion - Strong MS Excel (able to do data analysis/working with large data sets) and PowerPoint skills - Series 7 and 66 licensing or willingness to obtain within 180 days of hire

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $60,000 and $110,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
