Summary Description

The Sabo lab at the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center in Columbia University Medical Center is seeking a passionate and self-driven Staff Associate with a strong background in molecular biology, DNA cloning, cell culture, biochemistry and wet-lab experience, to start ASAP. The Staff Associate will join a newly-initiated project to screen for drugs that will inhibit SARS-CoV2 RdRp, as well as assist with lab management responsibilities. The Sabo Lab is located in a shared space at the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center in Columbia University Medical Center. The position is currently for a 1 year period but may be extended based on funding.

Minimum Degree Required

Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology,Virology, Biochemistry or related sciences.

Minimum Qualifications

o 4 years related work experience (Inc. wet lab) o Molecular biology and genetic engineering techniques o Protein purification o Mammalian tissue culture

Preferred Qualifications

o Experience with working with viruses is a plus but not a must o FACS and basic imaging is preferable
