Robert Half Sr. Software Engineer in New York, New York
Description Robert Half is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to develop Software as a Service (SaaS) applications. This role analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements. The software engineer will be responsible for writing code, completing programming, and performing testing and debugging of applications. Completes installation and maintenance documentation and procedures. May interact with users to define systems requirements and/or necessary modifications. Experience in object-oriented design, coding, performance tuning, and unit testing. Knowledge of logical data modeling. You can expect this role to be about 75% development and 25% system management and support. This person must have strong communication and team building skills and be able to participate in software design discussions and guide the architecture of the solution based on good object oriented design concepts, and both industry standard patterns and Microsoft best practices.
Responsibilities
Experience creating and managing web services.
Transforms business requirements to conceptual solution architecture and high-level project estimates.
According to business requirements, develops, modifies, and implements Software as a Service (SaaS) hosted applications.
Experience utilizing open-source languages to develop software.
Relational Database knowledge.
Experience with scripting library tools. Requirements - Object oriented design, coding, performance tuning, and unit testing
Ensures technical requirements align with business requirements
Engages in peer code reviews
Accomplishes proper unit testing and software code written (including automated unit testing)
Logical data modeling design and implementation skills
Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously with various groups both internally and externally
Engages effectively in self-directed time management and prioritization of workload
Complete such other duties as may be assigned by management
Research, extraction and entry of complex data
Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software
Knowledge of standards and techniques used during the Software Development Life Cycle process (SDLC, security) and applies them appropriately Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
