Amazon Sr. Product Editorial Manager, Wondery Product, Data, Technology in New York, New York

The Sr. Product Editorial Manager will be responsible for content merchandising, programming schedules, community engagement and metadata standards across Wondery's 1st party products (Wondery app, linear FAST channels, etc.) as well as 3rd party distribution channels like YouTube. This role shapes the customer experience across various platforms and drives content discovery and engagement. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including content, marketing, product, and operations to ensure a cohesive, engaging, and high-performing editorial strategy. This role will develop and implement platform-specific best practices, drive segment leading optimization strategies, and partner cross-functionally to create and maintain content calendars. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert with a proven track record in content merchandising, metadata optimization, and has a digital-first approach to the curation of audio and video content.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the editorial vision and content strategy for Wondery's apps, YouTube channels, and other distribution channels to drive growth, engagement, and brand awareness. Optimizing for metrics like listen/watch time, content starts, subscribers, etc.

  • Lead day-to-day editorial operations of Wondery’s YouTube channels, in partnership with content production, marketing, and digital operations teams.

  • Develop and implement platform specific best practices and standards (e.g. brand safety, copyright), staying informed of platform optimization strategies and utilizing new features.

  • Partner with cross functional teams (content, marketing, product, etc) to create and maintain content calendars.

  • Develop and execute strategies for community engagement and new content formats like shorts and stories.

  • Create best practices for content/promotional metadata and optimization strategies (search, recommendations, playlists, etc)

  • Partner with operations teams to upload daily content and community posts with SEO optimized titles, descriptions, thumbnails, tags, captions, end cards, and CTAs.

  • Drive SEO strategies, working closely with teammates to implement effective keywords and targets to drive valuable traffic.

  • Partner with the product team to inform content requirements and optimize the user experience across platforms

  • Work with content/production teams, editors, graphic designers, and social teams to optimized content and create content templates.

  • Monitor, analyze, and distribute performance reports and insights for 1st and 3rd party distribution channels.

  • Partner across teams to resolve any content policy issues (ContentID, ad-suitability/brand safety, etc) that may arise. Create documentation and provide training to colleagues to prevent issues from occurring.

  • Create deep framework testing mechanisms, constantly iterating and proving best practices, and sharing learnings with marketing and content teams.

  • Help conceptualize and execute ongoing and special event based content curations that are in alignment business and brand initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs

  • Experience communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)

  • Direct experience running successful YouTube channels (or similar community driven video portals), including overall strategy and content SEO

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track record of leading successful content initiatives that drive measurable growth and engagement

  • Experience leading and developing high-performing editorial teams

  • Time management skills and the ability to own a project from ideation to execution.

  • Enthusiasm to work across teams and collaborate

  • Deep research skills with tools (keywords, competitive and content tools)

  • Fan of podcasts, YouTube, and online content

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $112,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $186,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
