New Era LLC Sr. Manager, Visual Merchandising & Planning(Store Construction) in New York, New York

The Sr. Manager, Visual Merchandising & Planning (Flagship Store Construction) will be the lead Project Manager on the build and construction of the new concept New Era Flagship store in NYC. They will operate as the liaison between the New Era leadership team and external design agencies, architects, and contractors to bring the store to life. This person will serve as the primary on-the-ground leader and Visual Merchandising expert who will also oversee merchandising and product placement and marketing initiatives for our pinnacle retail location in North America. This position is based our of NYC, incumbent must live and work in NYC.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, manage and function as a liaison between New Era headquarters and Flagship store teams on all visual merchandising, store design, and in-store event and activation initiatives

  • Support leadership team in store design, project management, and buildout logistics for the NYC and future Flagship locations in North America

  • Partner with merchandising, buying, and in-store management teams to effectively space plan product in Flagship stores; on-site implementation of product placement and display for initial floorsets, replenishments, exclusive collections, collaborations, special events, etc.

  • Short term – On-site project management through store buildout process for our main direct-to-consumer retail location in North America, inclusive of store design, permitting, construction, and initial merchandising process, helps drive project from initiation to store opening

  • Long term - Maintain constant presence in North America Flagship stores, trains and works alongside store teams to ensure all merchandising and display standards are met and exceeded, leads all in-store visual merchandising and event projects

  • Execution of multiple in-store events and activations surrounding key major league sporting events, product drops, collaborations, etc. throughout the calendar, inclusive of event design, space planning, internal alignment and external vendor management

  • Manage the design development, production, and installation of fixtures, display components, and other 3D-related projects within the Flagship stores

  • Cultivate relationships with production/fabrication vendor partners to ensure needs are met on both ends as far as budget, timing, brand standards, and best practices; manages the order fulfillment process with vendors from bidding process through production, delivery, and installation

  • Track and manage both project-specific and annual budgets

  • Analyze the impact the above projects have on the sell-through of New Era product; analyzes ROI and other KPIs

  • Assist with other departmental projects, as needed

  • Keep sensitive matters confidential

  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent project management, organization, verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong visual and merchandising skills and experience with fixturing and brand presentation that can translate to various environments

  • Experience acting as point-person at installations and events, ability to create strong partnerships with vendor contacts, troubleshoot on-site, make timely decisions, identify areas of opportunity, and provide logical and efficient solutions

  • Advanced knowledge of print production and fabrication methods and materials typically used in creative retail production

  • Ability to create impactful retail presentations that incorporate innovative aesthetics with brand standards to result in increased product sell-through and elevated brand identity

  • Ability to handle changing priorities and work collaboratively across organizational structures

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop)

  • Experience with space planning and planogram writing and knowledge of CAD design process

  • Strong attention to detail – standards, lighting, fixtures, windows, etc.

Education and Experience

  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in visual merchandising experience required in a corporate or field/in-store setting required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Visual Merchandising, or related field. Evperience in lieu of degree may be considered

  • Related experience in retail or event production preferred

  • Portfolio of work desired

Travel Requirement

  • Up to 25% to Global HQ in Buffalo, NY

The salary range for this posted position is $120,000 - $150,000 (plus bonus & benefits) and pertains to candidates located in New York City. Actual compensation is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
