MongoDB, Inc. Senior Software Engineer in New York, New York
DUTIES: Work with system analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Modify existing code to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Manage the software development lifecycle. Monitor system performance. Test software development methodology in an agile environment. Analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites. Work closely with product teams, considering the user’s perspective while helping the team achieve success. Collaborate with team members over best practices and core concepts. Hold yourself accountable to your actions, maintaining the balance between accomplishing goals with research & development. Own our core values and adhere to them in your work and stay up to date with best practices in engineering. Must appear in office 3 days per week. Work from home permissible 2 days per week.Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, or related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in Software Engineering or in the job offered or related role.Experience and/or education must include: 1.Distributed Systems, capable of building and debugging distributed processes at scale;2.Concurrency and ability to understand / write fast correct concurrent code for java and/or golang;3.Debugging skills;4.Ability to dig through logs and code in large scale environments; and5.Performance tuning.OTHER: Job Site: 1633 Broadway, 38th Fl., New York, NY 10019 & Must appear in office 3 days per week.
