Company: Spotify USA, Inc.Company HQ: 4 World Trade Center, 150 Greenwich Street, New York, NY 10007Location: Telecommuting role to be performed anywhere in the U.S. Job Title: Senior Software Engineer Job Duties: Serve as a valued member of an autonomous agile team to continuously experiment, iterate and deliver on new product objectives. Act as a strong participant in the Spotify-wide backend community affecting and driving backend engineering across the company. Facilitate collaboration with peers, product owners, and designers to seek exciting and complicated problems for delivering quality code. Participate in regular hack days and annual hack weeks. Deliver testable, maintainable, and high-quality code and take operational responsibility for the components that you develop. *Telecommuting role to be performed anywhere in the U.S.Position requirements: Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field and seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or in a related software development position. Must have six (6) years of experience with Agile development experience. Must have five (5) years of experience with Distributed systems. Must have four (4) years of experience with: Java Programming; and Backend Development. Must have three (3) years of experience with: Systems Design including working on scalability, operations, system side effects, flexible design, or client vs server interactions; Database including working with database management system or database services such as Postgres, BigTable, or Spanner; Cloud infrastructure such as Google Cloud Platform or Kubernetes; and Operations & System Reliability including SRE Design, Postmortems, Monitoring & Alerting, and SLI/SLOs. Must have two (2) years of experience with Github; Mentoring or role modeling for junior software engineers; and Developer experience domain such as developer workflow automation or resolving development related pain points.
