Robert Half Senior Software Analyst in New York, New York

Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Senior Software Analyst. As part of our team, you will be instrumental in analyzing and evaluating user business problems, developing system recommendations, and collaborating with business and technology teams. This role is integral to our operations and has a significant impact on our deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Define controls, processes, and procedures for software asset management to ensure effective and efficient enterprise licensing.

  • Monitor software usage and licenses across the organization.

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to software licensing non-compliance.

  • Analyze and report on software license consumption information for forecasting, budgeting, compliance, and cost optimization.

  • Conduct regular software license audits.

  • Collaborate with system lifecycle managers and budget owners to understand current and future software licensing needs.

  • Analyze software usage to determine potential efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.

  • Validate invoices and fulfill licensing requests through the CIO Central catalogue and software portals.

  • Track software end of support and end of life and plan accordingly.

  • Assess software for fit-for-use and fit-for-purpose analysis.

  • Focus on cost-saving efforts including license remediation, harvesting, and reducing duplicate software.

  • Enhance software asset management tools and systems for improved license tracking and monitoring

    Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years related experience or equivalent combination.

  • Understanding of software usage rights, and contractual terms and conditions.

  • Knowledge of IT asset management best practices, including knowledge on ServiceNow, SharePoint, and Costpoint.

  • Proficient with process development and improvement.

  • Knowledge of IT SW contract models.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across an organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ServiceNow SAMPro certification.

  • IAITAM Asset Management certification.

  • Experience developing, managing, and implementing complex processes and plans.

  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, planning, organization, and execution skills.

  • Superior attention to detail.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Advanced data analysis and reporting skills.
