EMCOR Group Senior Project Engineer (Electrical) in New York, New York

Description

SUMMARY

Forest Electric NY is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. The candidate will be responsible for creating comprehensive electrical installation drawings for commercial electrical projects. This role involves working closely with project managers, foremen, and other team members to identify opportunities for savings while ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and codes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts for commercial projects.

  • Analyze electrical designs and systems to identify opportunities for value engineering and cost reduction.

  • Develop and manage detailed 3D models of electrical systems for commercial projects using industry-standard software.

  • Coordinate with other trades (e.g., mechanical, plumbing, structural) to ensure proper integration of electrical systems.

  • Collaborate with foremen and project managers to interpret design requirements and specifications.

  • Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, codes, and specifications.

  • Conduct site visits to gather necessary data for accurate drafting and documentation.

  • Regular, predictable and reliable on-site attendance is an essential function of the job.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Formal education in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • 5 + years of experience in commercial electrical engineering or drafting.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other drafting software.

  • Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant standards.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.

  • Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs into clear, detailed drawings.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Compensation Range: $80,000 - $145,000
