The Nielsen Planning practice advises the world’s largest and most influential advertisers, agencies, and media companies on how to make their businesses more successful. We are a team of consultants and thought leaders who bring Nielsen’s industry leading measurement products to life, providing actionable insights to help clients make better business decisions.

The Senior Manager, Product Sales will lead our Planning business for Digital and TV Network clients, including many of the world’s largest publishers. This role will engage with clients to identify needs and internally determine the right planning solutions to address their business objectives. This individual will draw upon a deep understanding of industry and analytical capabilities to develop, pitch, and deliver a complete solution. The Senior Manager will work with internal sales partners on client proposals and present compelling pitches that demonstrate Nielsen’s value, winning both new and repeat business. This person will collaborate with Nielsen leaders in marketing and product to ensure go-to-market strategies and deliverables meet revenue, client and marketplace expectations.

The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated track record of delivering commercial success among large and sophisticated media & advertising clients. This person will have a solid understanding of Nielsen Audience Measurement products and the media & advertising ecosystem, including digital media. Strong candidates will be highly analytical and show aptitude in consultative sales, client service, internal collaboration, and adapting within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead Planning for Sell Side (Digital Publishers and TV Networks) vertical

  • Responsible for overall success, including commercial and strategic, for Nielsen’s Planning business among media researchers and planners

  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategy and collaborate with other teams on new-product development opportunities

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for all Nielsen Planning solutions

  • Deliver commercial success

  • Drive sales, both new and renewal, for Nielsen Planning solutions among digital publishers and TV Networks clients

  • Manage full consultative sales cycle, including prospecting, surfacing client business needs, pitching relevant Nielsen solutions, and negotiating deals to successful completion

  • Present to senior client stakeholders with presence and credibility. Build client relationships and inspire confidence in Nielsen

  • Expand penetration of Nielsen Planning through internal account planning and new business presentations

  • Proactively anticipate client needs and innovate creative, industry-relevant solutions to drive opportunities for client engagement

  • Commit to and exceed assigned sales targets.

  • Create and maintain a sales pipeline in Salesforce software, with accurate revenue forecasting and delivery

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of work experience, ideally within media & advertising, consulting, market research, or related domain. Media planning, buying and/or agency experience a plus

  • Bachelor’s Degree. MBA or other Masters Degree a plus

  • Deep knowledge of media industry (traditional and new media, role of media in client business, media effectiveness measurement techniques, media planning, etc.)

  • Experience working with media clients

  • Ability to drive sales, both new and repeat, among a diverse set of clients

  • Ability to understand complex data and measurement concepts and innovative measurement solutions

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with an eye for detail and a commitment to quality.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present complex topics in a simplified manner to clients and potential prospects.

Additional Details

  • Role is hybrid and candidates should be accustomed to working as such

  • Work from Nielsen offices in select locations

  • Requires limited client and internal travel (up to 15%)

A reasonable estimate of salary range for a new employee to be offered this role would be between $66,000 - $225,000, which would be adjusted based on each employee's geographic location. The position of each employee within a compensation range at Nielsen is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications and other business requirements/needs.
