New York Times Senior IT Auditor in New York, New York

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced IT Auditor to join our Corporate Internal Audit team. You will evaluate and assess our information technology systems and controls. As a Senior IT Auditor, you will contribute to the entire audit lifecycle, including planning, execution and reporting. You will conduct IT audits, identifying potential IT risks and vulnerabilities and recommending control measures, which will assist us in maintaining the integrity and reliability of its information technology systems.

Reporting to the Senior Director, IT Audit, in a hybrid fashion, requiring 3 days a week at the New York Times Company headquarters in Manhattan.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of the IT control environment and efficiency of internal controls and operating practices to identify potential vulnerabilities, risks and weaknesses in IT systems

  • Develop audit plans, considering our goals and risk profile

  • Evaluate compliance with relevant IT regulations, standards and industry-leading best practices

  • Collaborate with teams to provide guidance and recommendations for improving IT controls

  • Collect and analyze data sets from databases and systems

  • Use a data-driven approach to identify potential risks, anomalies and patterns in data sets

  • Prepare comprehensive reports detailing audit findings, and suggest recommendations and corrective actions

  • Stay updated on latest trends, technologies and regulations as it relates to our IT environment

  • Perform IT general control testing (on behalf of our external auditors) for financial application systems

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field

  • 4+ years of experience in IT auditing, with a focus on evaluating processes

  • Experience conducting audits with a focus on cloud environments, demonstrating adeptness in assessing cloud-based systems and security

  • Experience performing audits in the cybersecurity space, using your expertise to evaluate and enhance security protocols, identify vulnerabilities and mitigate risks across organizational systems and networks

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO) and industry best practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Report technical concepts to non-technical partners

  • Professional certifications such as CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor)

  • Experience with the use of audit analytics software and an understanding of SQL

The annual base pay range for this role is between $110,000.00 and $120,000.00.
