Disney Entertainment Senior Financial Analyst, International Disney+ Subscriber Finance in New York, New York

Disney Subscriber & Engagement Finance is a highly visible team of professionals with backgrounds in consulting, investment banking, private equity, media & entertainment, and technology who serve as in-house advisers to the Disney Streaming Services’ executive leadership and own the subscriber & engagement growth planning and reporting. The team’s activities and accomplishments have contributed to the rapid growth and success of the Disney Streaming Services.

We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst that will play a key role in growing our direct-to-consumer business, passionate about Disney+ in LATAM. They will help identify some of the business’ key issues by providing subscriber transparency and help provide solutions by partnering with cross functional teams to evaluate pivotal initiatives. This is inclusive of but not limited to: modeling subscriber growth, developing and supervising KPI’s to drive execution and operational improvement, identifying new business and product opportunities, assessing partnerships and deal structures, and more. They will also be responsible for initiating and maintaining alignment with a regional team, serving as an anchor for subscriber frameworks as Disney+ launches across the world.

The right person for this role has phenomenal analytical skills, experience in working with large data sets and building sophisticated financial models, sets a high bar for themselves, and must display initiative in anticipating and exceeding the business demands of the key team members. This role will be data-focused, responsible for sharing business insights, providing strategic recommendations, and influencing key operational decisions.

The pace and cadence for change at DSS necessitates an ability to manage multiple projects, collaborate with multiple collaborators, and roll up sleeves to support this important segment.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • Maintain, manage and improve Disney+ LATAM operating model with focus on key underlying subscription drivers

  • Develop strategic subscriber models to support new cases and ad hoc requests to highlight critical metric trends, opportunities/risks to plan, etc.

  • Build and maintain subscriber and content reporting tools to better understand regional subscriber trends

  • Maintain a strong understanding of operating performance (e.g. important metrics, subscribers), major deals and transactions, issues and challenges facing the businesses, and relevant trends in the streaming business

  • Develop impactful, compelling presentation materials (decks, notes, write-ups, backup materials, etc.) that effectively communicates subscriber projections, drivers, business performance, and risks & opportunities to leadership

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:.

  • Minimum two years of strategy or finance experience and proven track record with a top tier tech or media & entertainment firm, management consultancy or investment bank

  • Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier school with a major in Finance, Economics or similar subject area with an analytical bias

  • Strong analytical capabilities and financial modeling skills (MS Excel), including the ability to build models from scratch

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including PowerPoint) and ability to simplify sophisticated matters for an executive audience

  • Ability to work well in teams, both within the group and with other business units

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects at the same time, while keeping management accurately advised

  • Curiosity about international business

  • Familiarity with working in or with global, large organizations is a plus

  • Spanish language skills are a plus

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $104,200.00 to $143,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
