ConEdison Senior Engineer (2H), Central Engineering - Steam Projects Boiler Team in New York, New York
Required Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 8 years of applicable engineering work experience - SENIOR ENGINEER (2H) Requires unsupervised execution of project support in the discipline specific requirements for 2H. Must have a working knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as ASME, NFPA ACI, AISC, ASCE, New York City Building Code, etc. Must have a thorough understanding of the environmental issues that impact steam projects. Knowledge of evaluating inspections and repairs, construction methods and cost estimating required. or
Master's Degree with a Bachelors Degree in Engineering and 6 years of applicable engineering work experience - SENIOR ENGINEER (2H) Requires unsupervised execution of project support in the discipline specific requirements for 2H. Must have a working knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as ASME, NFPA,ACI, AISC, ASCE, New York City Building Code, etc. Must have a thorough understanding of the environmental issues that impact steam projects. Knowledge of evaluating inspections and repairs, construction methods and cost estimating required.
Relevant Work Experience
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering and 8 yrs of applicable experience. Applicants who also have a Masters degree require 6 yrs of applicable experience.
- Must have a working knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as ASME, NFPA, NEC, ACI, AISC, ASCE, New York City Building Code, etc.
- Must have a thorough understanding of the environmental issues that impact Steam Boiler Team Projects
- Working knowledge of Boiler Island inspections and repairs, construction methods and cost estimating required.
- Computer skills required to include proficiency in Microsoft OUTLOOK, WORD, EXCEL, and POWERPOINT.
- Must have strong customer service instincts.
- Must be well organized, detail oriented, able to render sound business decisions, and have the flexibility to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Requires a high regard for personal accountability and understand the critical importance of commitment to excellence.
- Must be able to promote a positive work ethic in support of the Companys Corporate Values, possess a high energy level and have a demonstrated commitment to environmental excellence and safety in the workplace.
- Must possess strong oral and written communication skills and have the demonstrated ability to effectively interact with personnel on all levels (management and union).
- Must be capable of supervising out-of-house consulting engineers.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
-NYS PE License. Preferred

Additional Physical Demands
Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
Must be willing and able to travel to company locations throughout the company service territory.
Must be willing and able to wear the required PPE as needed.
Must be willing and able to perform field and office work.
