Bloomberg runs on data. Our products are fueled by powerful information. We combine data and context to paint the whole picture for our clients, around the clock – from around the world. In Data, we are responsible for delivering this data, news and analytics through innovative technology - quickly and accurately. We apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies, and we implement technology solutions to enhance our systems, products, and processes.

Our Team:

Our New Issues Credit Data team is responsible for the timely and accurate publication of new bonds being brought to market. We develop automated pipelines for ingestion and publication of new issue data, enhance our primary markets dataset, and find opportunities to expand our data product offering through client engagement. We work closely with internal consumers of our data including the News, Evaluated Pricing, and Index teams. We also heavily collaborate with our counterparts in Product, Sales, and Engineering.

What’s the role?

As the Data Product Owner, you'll help to grow Bloomberg's offering of corporate bond data. Using market knowledge and experience and understanding of Bloomberg’s technical platforms, you will help to deliver a roadmap and strategy to improve our offering to clients and help product partners and customers achieve their goals. You will be expected to represent the team at conferences and industry events - developing an understanding of the strategic landscape and building networks with banks, contributing partners, and consumers of the data.

We'll Trust You To:

  • Develop and drive a strategic vision for the corporate bond primary markets globally

  • Keep up-to-date with market trends, attend industry events and working groups, in collaboration with partners in Product

  • Partner with Engineering to provide guidance and direction as functionality and additional datasets are built out

  • Liaise and collaborate with other groups such as Core and Enterprise Product, Index, BVAL, and Sales where there are dependencies on new issue bond data

  • Work with Data Modeling teams to ensure consistent standard processes in the creation of fit for purpose data

  • Communicate and contribute to the prioritization of business needs that guide the future direction of corporate bonds data

  • Contribute to continuous improvement by generating ideas to improve our data products and/or associated processes

  • Train and mentor other team members

You’ll Need to Have:

  • 4+ years of recent work experience in the Financial Services industry, focusing on fixed income markets

  • Strong understanding of client data needs and the strategic landscape within corporate bond markets

  • Proven experience in data management, for example improving data quality, accuracy, efficiency, or timeliness

  • A proven track record of successful project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks accordingly

  • Comfort with a high degree of autonomy, and shown ability in handling priorities from multiple internal and external partners

  • Proven ability to take a logical approach and apply critical thinking skills in order to tackle problems

  • Effective project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks accordingly

We’d Love to See:

  • Previous work experience with the Bloomberg Terminal or Bloomberg Market Concepts certification

  • Knowledge of SQL/Python querying language

  • Experience in semantic structures or data modeling

  • Experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau, QlikSense, or Splunk
