Neuberger Berman Senior Analyst, Specialty Finance Operations in New York, New York
Neuberger Berman is looking for an Operations Analyst supporting NB Alternatives. This is a cross functional role that will support the Specialty Finance Investment team and other Alternative Investments.
Private Equity is a rapidly growing group within Neuberger Berman with over $120 billion of investor commitments across our private equity fund of funds, secondary investments, co-investment and direct investment areas, including alternative credit. NB Specialty Finance group sits within this group and focuses on financing originators of high yield short duration debt, including consumer and small business loans/receivables, via credit facilities, whole loan purchases, corporate debt, and equity.
This person will play a key role in the daily support of the Specialty Finance Fund portfolio management team and other alternative strategies. The role will focus heavily on the day-to-day functional support of this strategy including the following: Trade Confirmation, Cash and Position Reconciliations, project management of all new loan platforms, Pricing, Data Integrity, Trade Ops/Settlements, loan platform oversight, and oversight of the Fund Administrator. Additionally, this person will be assisting with design & implementation of process improvements and system enhancements for this space.
Responsibilities:
Liaise between portfolio managers, finance, legal, and service providers for all portfolio-specific activity and issues, ensuring cross-communication of critical information between departments
Project Management: Working directly with investment management team, maintain deal pipeline and coordinate onboarding of all new credit mandates. Coordinate across internal stakeholders as well as external stakeholders (Finance, Internal and External Legal, Fund Admin, Trust etc.) to ensure a complete onboarding within defined time
Daily coordination between custodian, loan agent, fund admin and State Street
Identify and resolve cash, trade, and position breaks as well as any other open items between NB systems and external sources
Oversee trade process including trade confirmation and trade settlements
Escalate aged open items (breaks, unsettled trades) to appropriate parties
Ownership and oversight of portfolio management platform (Aladdin) to ensure integrity of data, assist with ad-hoc reporting
Oversight of Fund Administrator
Coordinate and assist with overseeing outsource providers and vendors across all relevant functions
Drive process improvements and system enhancements
Perform Ad hoc projects as needed
Qualifications:
5+ years operations experience in fixed income / specialty finance or other private equity strategies within a large fund company or asset management firm.
Experience working with various credit products and private equity a must
Knowledge of Wall Street Office and Clearpar, a plus
Knowledge of Aladdin, Appian and or Hazeltree, a plus
Direct Lending investment experience, a plus
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel – knowledge of formulas a must, Microsoft Visio, Outlook and Word.
Team-oriented work ethic that includes willingness to help others
Strong organization and time management skills
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects
Compensation Details
The salary range for this role is $80,000-$120,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York City. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
