First-Citizens Bank & Trust Company Remote Credit Administration Business Risk & Controls Manager in New York, New York

Overview

The Credit Administration - Second Line Risk Manager is responsible for overseeing risk management activities assigned to their ownership for compliance, operational and regulatory risks within the Credit Administration Organization. In this role, you will help oversee the delivery of key risk management programs/activities within specifically assigned Credit Business Units as a member of a centralized team of risk professionals across Credit Administration. These key programs include Risk and Control Self-Assessments, Control Assurance Program Execution, Issue Identification/Remediation, and any BU specific risk advisory work required. In this role you will be expected to learn the risk and control processes within your Business Unit(s) and assist leaders within those units in understanding and executing against required risk management programs.


Responsibilities
  • Planning:

    * Assist in the development of an annual plan to execute required RCSA refreshes and control assurance reviews in coordination with the centralized Business Risk and Controls Team, as well as BU leaders.

    * Set and manage project goals, objectives and plans to accomplish tasks within established timelines and in alignment with established goals.

    Risk Program Management:

    * Oversee and manage enterprise risk programs impacting your assigned business unit(s). This includes RCSA Development / Refresh, Controls Assurance Testing, and Issue Management/Remediation.

    * Lead walkthroughs with process / control owners to obtain understanding of their process and controls; prepare them for effective presentation with internal and external auditors.

    * Facilitate the timely delivery of artifacts for control testing and ensure they are complete.

    * Manage the tracking, monitoring, presentation materials and reporting of testing activities and results for your Business Unit(s).

    * Manage the completeness and accuracy of the enterprise Governance, Risk and Compliance system as it relates to information pertaining to your Business Unit(s).

    * Assist the business owners in responding to feedback from internal and external challengers and validate the accuracy of any issues identified.

    * Assess control issues and partner with business owners to help articulate the root cause, analyze the actual and potential impact, develop correction plans, monitor for timely resolution, and conclude on final assessment.

    Risk Advisory Services:

    * Perform risks assessments, evaluate mitigation strategies, and help manage new projects or initiatives with emerging risks for Credit Administration, through the development of a Risk, Action, Issues, and Decision/Dependency (RAID) log, where needed.

    * Collaborate with control owners to design or enhance controls that strike the right balances between efficiency, risk mitigation, control design, and control documentation within enterprise frameworks.

    * Propose changes to processes and controls to address the Bank's dynamic growth, where new or complex risks are introduced and need to be mitigated.

    * Build healthy cross-functional relationships among various departments to achieve alignment in timelines, deliverables, and anticipated results.

    The base pay for this position is relative to your experience. If hired in New York or California, the range is generally $123,955.00 to $190,064.00 per year. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.


Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of experience in SOX, Auditing, Risk Management, Project Management, or Consulting OR High School Diploma or GED and 9 years of experience in SOX, Auditing, Risk Management, Project Management, or Consulting

Preferred Education: Bachelors Degree with advanced certification (CPA, CISA, CIA, etc.)

Preferred Area of Study: Business, Risk Management, Auditing

Preferred Area of Experience: Financial Services, Banking, Enterprise Risk, Operational Risk License or Certification Type: CPA, CIA, CISA

PreferredSkill(s): SOX, Auditing, MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook, Application knowledge: Archer, Workiva and/or nCino
