Minimum Qualifications Psychiatrist 2, SG-38:Salary: $261,361License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State AND certification in general psychiatry by the ABPN. Limited Permit Option: You may be eligible for appointment to Psychiatrist 2 if you have licensure in another state or Canada AND a current limited permit to practice medicine in New York State. If appointed, you must obtain your license within one year of the date your limited permit was issued. Failure to do so will result in removal from your position.
Duties Description The selected candidate will serve within the OnTrackNY Program, a Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) treatment program at Washington Heights Community Service, based at the New York State Psychiatric Institute and Columbia University Department of Psychiatry, serving adolescents and young adults experiencing early psychosis. The selected candidate will provide medical oversight, direct psychiatric care, and psychiatry resident supervision as part of a multidisciplinary specialized early psychosis team providing coordinated and assertive treatment to enrolled participants. Training and experience working with adolescents and young adults, experience in community-based mental health services, and Spanish fluency are preferred but not required.NOTE: 1. In order to be eligible for appointment and to maintain employment, you cannot be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of the Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists (or excluded from any other Federal or Federally assisted program). If you are appointed and subsequently listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of these lists (or excluded from any other Federal or federally assisted program), you may be terminated from your employment.2. If appointed you may be required to become an enrolled Medicare provider; obtain and provide to your employer a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number issued by the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES); and otherwise actively participate to the degree necessary to allow for your services to be billed through Medicare and Medicaid. If you are appointed and you lose the ability to bill through Medicare and Medicaid, you may be terminated from your employment.3. License and Certification: Loss of license or limited permit to practice medicine in New York State or board certification, if required, may result in removal from your position.
