Overview

The Prospect Research Analyst provides intelligence that informs fundraising strategy by identifying and assessing major gift prospects; monitoring and disseminating news on major donors and prospects; and providing research and analysis on individuals, companies, and foundations. This role also supports the Assistant Director of Research in assigning financially promising constituents across gift officer portfolios. Through quarterly portfolio reviews, the role partners with gift officers to maintain and optimize portfolios and provide strategic counsel with respect to prospect strategy and moves management. Further, this role supports the Law School’s annual and long-term fundraising goals by conducting prospect research utilizing publicly available information sources, as well as data provided through internal and external sources. The Prospect Research Analyst prepares comprehensive written analysis, utilizes data analytics and relationship mapping, and updates pertinent information in the Law School’s CRM database.



Responsibilities

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:
At least two years prospect research or development and/or fundraising experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Understanding of the full range of prospect development functions and fundraising in a complex environment.

Preferred Experience:
At least three years related experience at a large university or major non-profit organization; research library management.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong analytical, written, and verbal communications skills. Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software including experience with online resources such as Lexis-Nexis, iWave, DonorSearch, D&B Hoovers, Factiva, and Relationship Science.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience and proficiency with CRM databases, particularly with Blackbaud CRM.



Qualifications

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $69,545.46 to USD $85,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
