JOB DESCRIPTION

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Project Manager/ Scrum Master to manage the team responsible for FoxNews.com and FoxBusiness.com. Our project management team runs full scale projects as well as maintenance scrum based teams. This role will help the team reach peak productivity by facilitating Scrum ceremonies, assisting the Product Owner with maintaining a healthy and actionable backlog, proactively identifying and resolving roadblocks, tracking progress, and identifying and acting on opportunities for continuous improvement. You will also manage the full life cycle of projects and see projects through from start to finish, and we want someone who is as passionate as we are about bug free experiences and creating a seamless experience for our users.

SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the Project Manager/Scrum Master for the team responsible for FoxNews.com and FoxBusiness.com.

  • Facilitate sprint ceremonies (stand-up, sprint planning, pointing, grooming, retrospectives) and other meetings as needed with other internal teams (Design, Product, QA, etc).

  • Promote and demonstrate core Agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.

  • Facilitate and enable an environment of collaboration and creativity.

  • Support and empower the team to make appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition.

  • Empower the team to self-organize around achieving their commitments.

  • Identify and remove any impediments/distractions that interfere with the team's ability to deliver against their commitments.

  • Challenge and enable the team to continuously improve through intentional and data-driven inspect and adapt cycles (retrospectives).

  • Recommend improvements and assist in changes to best practices where appropriate.

  • Ensure the team is tracking and communicating team progress and metrics to the appropriate resources.

  • Managing deployments (Deployments may occur during the evening hours 1-2 instances a month).

  • Lead and facilitate regular team and vendor meetings to review project status and resolve issues.

  • Work closely with the product team to prioritize bugs, features and major releases.

  • Provide frequent updates on release schedules, quality, and progress to senior management

  • As you grow in the role, you will have the opportunity to manage an additional Scrum team.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Experience playing the Project Manger/Scrum Master role for software development teams.

  • Knowledge and application of project delivery life cycles methodology, particularly Agile framework.

  • Experience in managing small teams (up to 10 individuals) independently.

  • Highly organized with the ability to work on several projects and tasks in parallel in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience successfully delivering solutions on an aggressive schedule.

  • Able to anticipate and prevent problems and roadblocks before they occur; effectively work with team members and management to resolve complex problems.

  • Able to communicate and exchange complex information in a clear, concise manner to a variety of audiences: development teams, product managers, vendors, and senior management.

  • Time management and organization skills.

  • Experience with JIRA or ticketing/bug tracking systems.

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • CSM, PMP and other certifications are a plus.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $127,000.00-145,500.00 annually for New York City and Westchester County, NY. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
