Mott MacDonald is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to join the Water Team in New York, NY. This role would include the delivery support of a diverse portfolio of projects for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection. Projects are in various stages including planning, studies, concept development, design and construction.

As a Project Controls Specialist, you will be responsible forcollaborating with many project managers to make sure projects are delivered in a consistent manner, on time and within budget. The role also includes supporting the Project Managers in the development and refinement of project costs, schedules, risk management, changes & claims, and document control, along with the production of various reporting and communications as support to the client as needed.

Responsibilities of this position will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Provide input to all areas of project controls, including budget, cost, risk, schedule and change management.
  • Perform analysis and develop / present alternatives with respect to project schedules and cash flows as part of the change management process.
  • Develop and update regularly, project budgets, schedules, and project lists that summarize the planning, design procurement, design, contractor procurement and construction.
  • Collaborate with other to prepare routine, reoccurring reports.
  • Perform analysis of program sequence of work and milestones and recommend projects that need funding.
  • Onboard and management of subconsultants for large-scale projects.
  • Support designers in scope definition, conceptual estimates, feasibility studies, and risks analysis
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have the following required experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of hands-on technical experience and education
  • 5 years previous experience in a project controls field
  • Knowledge of cost and schedule software such as HCSS, MS Project, P6, etc.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Primavera and Team
  • Ability to be flexible and work both autonomously and within a team
  • Experience with e-builder is recommended

Salary Range: $70,000- $78,500
