Simon & Schuster’s Legal Department is looking for a full-time Privacy Manager or Paralegal with privacy experience. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collegial and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Legal Department with implementation of a comprehensive privacy management program, including:

• Coordinating privacy compliance across cross-functional teams;

• Managing full lifecycle of Data Subject Requests (DSRs) under CPRA, GDPR, and other global privacy laws;

• Monitoring, updating, and maintaining various modules within OneTrust platform, including Cookie Consent and Privacy Rights Automation;

• Supporting contract and data privacy addendum management;

• Conducting privacy assessments of third-party vendors;

• Assisting with annual compliance reviews and periodic trainings; and

• Managing Privacy Administrator inbox.

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree and/or paralegal certificate

• CIPP/CIPM/CIPT strongly preferred

• Comprehensive understanding of CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, and other applicable global privacy laws.

• 2+ years experience working on end-to-end management of a privacy program, including a proven track record of effectively managing DSRs

• Familiarity with OneTrust platform preferred

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams

• Prompt responsiveness and excellent follow-through skills

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable.
