American Technology Services Partner Manager in New York, New York

POSITION SUMMARY

ATS is expanding our team of Vendor and Partner Managers to assist in making sound purchasing and partnership decisions and is looking for a motivated and results-oriented individual based out of our New York City office. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Business Development, this role involves working with multiple vendors / partners, learning about their products, assisting with new business development, coordinating with ATS procurement managers, sales staff, client service managers, and working closely with operations personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities will involve managing vendor activities, develop and maintain relationships with both new and existing vendors, tracking vendor performance, and ensuring that our strategic partners fulfill their contractual obligations.

  • Vendor Relationship Management

  • Develop and sustain long-standing relationships with current and new vendors (i.e., manage the full cycle of the company’s relationships with vendors / strategic partners)

  • Meet with suitable vendors to assess their products, inquire about their services, negotiate pricing, and communicate any product or service-related concerns

  • Conduct research on available products / vendors to determine which vendors offer the best pricing and product quality

  • Establish standards by which to assess the performance of approved vendors

  • Evaluate current vendor management system and identify ways to improve it

  • Resolve vendor disputes or issues quickly and efficiently

  • Support the continuous improvement to our external partner relationship program

  • Ensure timely renewal of services with vendors. (e.g., Cisco, VMWare, MS, Dell)

  • Develop and conduct ongoing review process of company partners / vendors

  • Additional requirements may exist if offer of employment is extended

  • Contract Management

  • Organize and track all documentation between the company and vendors

  • Contract management - create / maintain physical and virtual contract and subcontract files

  • Analyze and communicate contractual performance targets and risks

  • Cancel contracts with underperforming vendors and those that are no longer needed

  • Assist in review and distribution of partner invoices and commission payments

  • Research and Reporting

  • Prepare and disseminate various reports as required

  • Continually monitor sales trends to determine which products are more popular than others, and to identify gaps in our product offering

  • Work with internal staff on certifications required to maintain partnership levels

  • Actively participate in industry events and act as an advisor to internal team.

  • Communicate about new or revised services and products to internal team and conduct training/demo as needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree

  • 3-5 years of IT vendor management experience, contract management, supply chain management or procurement

  • Experience working for an IT firm (MSP / MSSP preferred) and familiarity with MSP services

  • Experience working in Microsoft Partner eco-system is a strong plus

  • Strong experience in identifying opportunities for business growth

SKILLS

  • Proficiency in Microsoft O365 is required (experience with M365 and Azure a plus)

  • Able to work independently on assigned tasks or projects, and to multitask

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Detail-oriented and adept at analyzing products and opportunities
