We are seeking a skilled Paralegal to for a client in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys in the preparation of litigation actions and manage the complexities of the legal process efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in the preparation of litigation actions, including drafting pleadings and responses to discovery demands.
- Handle extensive document production, coordinating the preparation and timely distribution of information.
- Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all documents are up to date and accessible.
- Coordinate with management personnel to provide documents in response to discovery requests.
- Analyze legal documents, catalog exhibits, and ensure all necessary documentation is prepared.
- Conduct legal research, perform cite checks, and assist in the preparation of legal briefs.
- Monitor case progress, managing all related litigation support tasks.
- Perform additional tasks and assignments as required to support the legal team.
- Initiate and maintain legal holds using appropriate software.
- Stay informed about court deadlines and procedural rules, ensuring compliance with all submission requirements.
- Maintain electronic document repositories and utilize document review platforms/software.
- Handle e-filing of documents on PACER and NYSEF systems.
Qualifications:
- Strong background in drafting discovery responses and various types of motions.
- Extensive experience in processing authorizations.
- Proficiency in legal research, document production, and litigation support.
- Experience with legal holds, e-filing, and document management systems.
