The Mount Sinai Health System Medical Director of Dermatology - Physician - Skin of Color Center - Manhattan, NY in New York, New York

The Department of Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai seeks a Director for its Skin of Color Center in Manhattan!

Mount Sinai’s Skin of Color Center routinely treats NYC’s ethnically diverse minority populations. We are looking to hire an exceptional, board certified medical and cosmetic dermatologist with a strong academic record of accomplishments and/or academic, clinical and research productivity, impressive publications and a deep interest in treating conditions in skin of color. Based on the level of expertise and experience, this individual would be fulfilling a prominent role as the Director of the Skin of Color Center or the Medical Director of the Skin of Color Center. The qualified candidate will be offered a unique and exciting opportunity to be a world leader in clinical and translational research in skin of color and beyond; to lead clinical trials in many inflammatory and other unique conditions within skin of color, including investigator initiated studies; and the chance to become a trailblazer in skin of color treatments. The qualified candidate must have experience in medical and/or cosmetic dermatology with an interest in clinical, translational and/or basic research involving conditions related to skin of color (such as keloids, vitiligo, CCCA, etc.). The individual, who will be offered the Director or Medical Director position, will also serve as a mentor to our residents and medical students that will become the next generation of dermatologists. In addition, this individual will be expected to be a vital team player and be part of the department’s management, capable of maintaining strong relationships with senior leadership of the Department, The Mount Sinai Hospital, and the Icahn School of Medicine.

Selected candidate will participate in the administrative operations and will be encouraged to actively serve on divisional and departmental committees.

The ideal candidate should have:

• Experience in lasers, and cosmetic procedures addressing skin of color conditions.

• A robust interest in academics, teaching, scholarly projects, and clinical/translational or basic research, and particularly in conditions involving skin of color.

• Strong academic record of publications and research.

• Track record of foundation/Pharma/NIH grants (particularly candidate for the Director of the Skin of Color Center)

• Have a collegial and team player mindset, capable of thriving in a team environment

• Experience in clinical trials

Position Qualifications:

• Board Certified in Dermatology

• Must obtain and maintain a medical license in the State of New York

• Track record of academic productivity, research and publications, including in skin of color

• Experience in clinical trials and/or Clinical/translational Research is a plus

• Expertise in Cosmetic procedures and Lasers is a plus

• Compensation range from 300K to 600K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need.
