Yeshiva University Media Services Specialist (Part-time) in New York, New York

Position Summary:

This position assists with troubleshooting issues in classrooms and for law school events in a timely and polite manner. Issues may include assisting with Zoom, correcting audio/video inputs/outputs, assistance with basic computer usage. Set up and break down equipment for special events including microphones, cameras, and projectors. This is a part-time position of 19 hours per week with scheduled work hours Monday to Thursday 3:45pm to 8:30pm.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Monitor AV call queue and AV email.
    • Field calls via Microsoft Teams and emails via Outlook from classrooms needing assistance.
    • Assist with issues over the phone is able, otherwise report to classroom to assist.
  • Troubleshoot technology issues in classrooms, including:
    • Zoom issues.
    • Projector issues.
    • Audio issues.
    • Basic computer issues.
  • Ensure classrooms are completely shutdown in the evenings, including logging out of all applications and shutting down hardware, and prepared for instruction in the morning.
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down microphones, projectors, cameras, and other equipment for law school events.

This position will report to the Associate Director of Classroom Technology and Media Services, as well as work closely with the full-time Media Services Specialist. They will be expected to interact with faculty, students, and CSL community members daily.

Experience & Educational Background:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Availability to work afternoons and evenings, as well as occasional weekends.
  • Experience with audio, video, and internet communications, preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Ideal candidate should be familiar with:
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Projectors.
    • Audio systems.
    • Zoom.
  • Effective communication skills (listening, speaking and writing).
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Working independently as well as collaboratively with a small group of colleagues.

Salary Range:

$30 - $36 per hour
