About the team

Enterprise Services and Public Affairs (ESPA) seeks to enhance and protect the reputation of Citi, its businesses, and the brand through direct and indirect communication with Citi's various stakeholders, including our colleagues.

The Global Communications team is a nimble team within ESPA that covers a broad scope of responsibilities in a dynamic and fast-moving environment. The team is responsible for designing and driving communications efforts ranging from Executive communications and public engagements to quarterly earnings and corporate reputation programs as well as communications that support our lines of business and functions. Within Citi, the team works with a wide range of internal partners, including senior leadership, and coordinates closely with other members of the ESPA team around the world. Additionally, members of the team serve as company spokespeople to media, drive engagement with colleagues and develop external and internal digital communications for a global workforce. The Markets Communications – Assistant Vice President will help drive the firm’s internal and external communications strategy, with a particular focus on Citi’s Markets business. You will support a range of communications needs, including media briefings, award pitches, announcements and social media. You will promote clear, consistent messaging of Citi’s strategy and ensure alignment with broader company objectives.

What You’ll Do

  • Help drive communications strategy and execution for Citi’s Markets business for internal and external audiences, in alignment with business priorities and objectives.

  • Schedule, track and prepare briefing materials for press meetings

  • Develop and maintain relationships with media, including trade publications.

  • Drive industry award campaigns and executive profile submissions.

  • Support and execute content creation for social media, including engagement with Citi’s Media Services team.

  • Support the development and execution of internal communications across Markets.

  • Help develop, implement and maintain plans prepared for a variety of strategic communications initiatives, including proactive and reactive scenarios.

  • Draft organizational announcements, press releases, project-specific communications and talking points.

  • Ensure activity adheres to Citi’s policies and procedures. Maintain records and approvals for audit purposes.

What We’ll Need From You

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in communications, public relations, journalism or another related field.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Critical competencies include oral communication, written communication, project management, relationship building, results orientation and strategic orientation.

  • A team player with a track record of success delivering high-quality work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

  • Ability to perform under high pressure in a consistent, professional manner.

  • Responsiveness with the ability to meet tight deadlines, including outside core working hours.

  • Rigorous attention to detail and aptitude to absorb technical information.

  • Integrity, maturity, dependability and a positive professional attitude

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment within a heavily matrixed organization.

$98,960.00 - $148,440.00
