NRG’s Renewable Advisory team is looking for a motivated Manager, Renewable Advisory Business Development to build and nurture customer relationships and to develop business opportunities related to community solar, distributed generation, transferable renewable energy tax credits enabled by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), and utility-scale renewables, including virtual power purchase agreements (VPPAs) and physically-delivered power purchase agreements (PPAs). The Manager, Renewable Advisory Business Development will own customer relationships from first contact through contract execution.

NRG’s Renewable Advisory team has a start-up-like culture that requires innovation and agility from all of its team members. This role is for an individual who is passionate about supporting new business opportunities related to community solar, distributed generation, renewable energy transferable tax credits, and utility-scale renewables with some of the largest energy users in the U.S.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop sales strategies for the Renewable Advisory team

  • Grow relationships with key prospective customers by taking an individualized approach to building renewable energy strategies and transferable tax credit procurement programs.

  • Create new business through organized prospecting including review of regulatory filings such as 10-Ks, public announcements, sustainability reports, press releases, and other available information to identify prospects for community solar, distributed generation, renewable energy transferable tax credits, and utility-scale renewable opportunities.

  • Organize, inform, collaborate, and partner with multi-disciplinary teams within NRG to help coordinate service delivery and build customer pipeline, including through cross-selling.

  • Innovate based on market feedback and assist in the creation of new products and services related to renewable energy procurement and transferable tax credit procurement.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

  • Experience working in renewable energy or business development

  • Ability to build strong customer relationships across organizational levels

  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills

  • 5-10 years of work experience in a professional/corporate environment

Location : New York City, New York

Travel : Travel requirement up to 40%

The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $160,000 with a bonus and eligibility for additional performance-based compensation.
