MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

We are excited to invite a passionate and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team! Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is searching for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for our Families w/ Children facility located in the Hell’s Kitchen area of Manhattan. As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, ensuring a safe and clean environment for our families at the facility. You will be responsible for maintaining building cleanliness, assisting the Director of Building Operations with daily projects, and supervising the maintenance staff. ABOUT HOMES FOR THE HOMELESS, INC.

Homes for the Homeless, Inc. (HFH) is a non-profit social services organization operating family shelters throughout NYC that serve as a hub of opportunity for families both residing in shelter as well as those in the neighboring community. On-site programs range from childcare, early childhood education centers, afterschool clubs and programs, and youth recreation activities, such as sports teams, to housing assistance, case management, parenting workshops, career and job vocational training, support groups and substance abuse assistance, and family engagement and recreation events for the whole family.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must have a working knowledge of a variety of building trades including HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical maintenance.

  • Assist with the supervision of staff to ensure the following: Work orders are being completed in a timely manner; the building is up to code; all vendor projects are properly completed.

  • Supervise and inspect tasks assigned to staff members.

  • Maintain and monitor the maintenance inventory supply.

  • Ensure preventative maintenance throughout the building.

  • Conduct daily inspections of the property and take appropriate action to ensure the highest standard of maintenance.

  • Act as a secondary point of contact for all building and grounds related issues.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of three years relevant work experience.

  • 1 year of supervisory experience.

  • Knowledge and ability to utilize a computer.
