JPMorgan Chase Global Securitized Products - ABS Origination - Analyst in New York, New York

The North American Auto & Equipment Term Asset Backed Securities Origination Group, you will spend two to three years working with top-tier professionals at the #1 Auto & Equipment ABS team in the industry

Position Summary:

As an analyst in the North American Auto & Equipment Term Asset Backed Securities Origination Group, you will spend two to three years working with top-tier professionals at the #1 Auto & Equipment ABS team in the industry. This unique position combines elements of the investment banking side of the business that pitches to clients and executes transactions with elements of the sales & trading side that tracks the markets and interacts with investors. While there is a steep learning curve, the team will provide developmental opportunities through training/mentoring, hands-on assignments, and client exposure.

Job Responsibilities:

  • preparing presentation materials and participating in new business pitches

  • providing execution support on transactions

  • tracking ABS market developments

  • reviewing transaction/legal documents and regulations

  • working closely with issuers and investors on ad hoc requests

  • use CAS (Collateral Analysis System) to analyze data tapes / loan level files

  • understanding ABS structures and cash flow models

  • conducting industry and product research

  • raise capital in the securitization markets

  • Provide leverage to team members: have a \"commercial mindset\" to understand how personal contributions result in revenue generation and creation of shareholder value

  • Working knowledge of industry and market fundamentals (e.g., impact of economic/market conditions, terminology, competitive landscape, etc.)

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • 1 year of securitization-related experience

  • Sense of urgency and understand how individual work performance (including speed, attention to detail, quality) impacts the firm's ability to serve clients

  • Understanding of accounting and corporate finance including market fundamentals and applications

  • Possess a positive attitude and determination to complete tasks while demonstrating intellectual curiosity to understand the product and business

  • Analyze and interpret data: can detect trends and themes in quantitative analyses and communicate them effectively

  • Excellent writing, research, and presentation skills (e.g., proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

  • Anticipate needs of client, team and senior bankers: show initiative to support team members and be pro-active with improving processes and responsibilities

  • Experience with Intex and CAS

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills is a must

  • Experienced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • The work is fast-paced, demanding and intellectually stimulating, so candidates should possess excellent quantitative, analytical and communication skills and be able to work well under pressure with the aptitude to synthesize large amounts of information

  • Candidates should be adaptable, know how to prioritize, be able to manage projects independently, and be prepared to assume a high level of responsibility

  • Positive attitude and a strong work ethic is important to being able to handle the work load

  • Well-rounded academic background with coursework in finance, accounting or economics is recommended
