Compensation

Salary Range (Grade A/890): $119,377 - $169,439

Responsibilities :

This person is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the Department of Subways Rail Control Center, utilizing ITrac, ISIM B, WA, ATS & CBTC technologies to safely achieve safe on-time service delivery. The incumbent will also oversee the notification process and incident management by ensuring adherence to rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. The selected candidate will direct the implementation and development of rail strategies; will also direct the implementation of Winter Operations, service diversions and service restoration plans. This position is responsible for overseeing implementation and restoration of General Orders, Signal Bulletins, and Special Operations system-wide; will also oversee Operations Control Center communications processes. The incumbent will ensure safe practice with, but not limited to power off and restoration situations; will also ensure OCC personnel’s compliance regarding relevant training. The position will also be responsible for managing the administrative functions for OCC personnel’s time and attendance records; developing and building communications protocols and develop recruitment efforts for both managerial and non-managerial personnel in the OCC.

Education and Experience :

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in Transportation Management, Business Administration or a related field and a minimum of ten (10) years of experience, of which seven (7) years must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity -or-

  • A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.

    Desired Skills :

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Service Delivery’s operations’ procedures, rolling stock equipment, New Technology Cars and work equipment.

  • Knowledge of information and signals systems, car maintenance, and service requirements.

  • Knowledge of Service Delivery’s emergency and safety procedures.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient knowledge of computer applications including MS Office.

    Selection Method :

    Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.

    All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
