SMBC FX Application Support Engineer in New York, New York

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $137,000.00 and $196,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

SMBC is looking for an FX Application Support Engineer to provide support for US Foreign Exchange Business, Application suite covering: Execution, Market Data, STP and Risk.

Role Objectives

Primary Responsibilities:

•  Provide Level 2/3 application production support for FX and related applications, Including Vendor Applications such as FXALL, 360T and Broadridge FXL

•  Global support and includes weekend availability to troubleshoot production related issues and perform checkouts

•  Ability to work both independently and in groups in an energetic, diverse environment

•  Problem investigation and resolution. Responsible for tracking bugs and stability issues that affect the production environment and drive changes to mitigate.

•  Debugging the system and fixing the production related issues

•  Handles complex operational tasks and recommends process and technology changes

•  Capacity planning, Incident and Problem management

•  Manage communication of system and application outages to the end users.

•  Resolve application and technical problems and Provide solutions for application automation

Qualifications and Skills

Desired Experience/Skills:

•  Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics

•  Expertise in operating windows with good command over any scripting language such as Powershell, Python, etc.

•  Good knowledge of FIX protocol

•  Strong Knowledge of FX order flow and STP

•  Strong Knowledge of FXALL, Broadridge FXL

•  Understanding of client and exchange connectivity support

•  Hands-on experience in support of a real-time trading environment

•  Knowledge of support applications that use high-performance messaging/middleware

•  Good analytical, and verbal and written communication skills
