Amazon Finance Manager, Forecasting - Inbound Ops FP&A in New York, New York

Amazon is seeking a seasoned analytical FP&A Financial Manager to support our Inbound supply chain network. This role you will be the finance partner to the Global Logistics (GL) Inventory Visibility Team (IVT) to create short, mid, and long-range volume planning (units, cube, and flows in partnership with SCOT, Inventory Planning Control (IPC), FBA Inbound, Retail and GCF teams. This role will also be responsible for the comprehensive volume story (Imports, Inbound, Exports, Warehouse Transfers etc) leveraging various financial mechanisms such as WBR, MEC/QEC, OBR, and planning reviews.

This highly visible role requires a candidate that is a self-starter and comfortable in always learning new things. They should have strong communication (both written/verbal) at a senior executive level, a strong sense of ownership, and a proven record of earning trust.

Key job responsibilities

  • Main point of contact for Inbound Finance supporting North America Ops Finance and WW Ops Finance

  • Draft story summaries for US Inbound network that will be used in docs that are sent out to senior leadership for reporting and planning scenarios

  • Attend Finance and Ops reviews and communicate what is driving the Inbound network results and answer questions that come up

  • Work with Inbound FP&A team on ad-hoc requests that involve bridging changes, reporting changes, or supplemental FAQs that come up during planning cycles

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

  • 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
