Electronic Environments Director of Sales & Marketing in New York, New York

The Director, Sales & Marketing acts as the primary liaison across several departments during project flows . They train and manage the sales team as well as contribute to the process of streamlining proposals in collaboration with Sales, Design & Engineering , and P urchasing. The Director, Sales & Marketing should ensure that clients are receiving a ccurate information, and that updated information is inputted timely into project tracking software. They are the first point of contact for internal needs as it connects to the sales department. The Director, Sales & Marketing is responsible for the overall productivity and effectiveness of the sales department. Reporting to the Vice President Sales, the Director, Sales & Marketing works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the appropriate objectives and priorities are enabled.

Resp onsibilities and Duties

  • Identify aspects improvable of the selling / proposal writing processes to create a more efficient workload , design alternative solutions as applicable .

  • Provide oversight for vetting, proposal creation , accuracy, profitability, and determination of GPD for projects.

  • Assist salesperson in c reat ion and maintain ing project intake documents. Adopt any changes and continue to utilize best practices for documentation.

  • Manage internal software tools to streamline processes, improve consistency to utilize EENYs recipe , ensure repeatability, profitability, and completeness .

  • D esign & build pre-populated proposal templates and equipment assemblies . Create fields for automatic entries into proposals , verify accuracy of products, and shar e best practices techniques gleaned from ConnectWise subject matter experts.

  • Create and distribute training documents for software tools/processes.

  • Oversee the sales team, ensure th at standard s are met, and all tools/processes are being used .

  • Coordinates sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes used within EENY. Proactively monitors and strives to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency.

  • Collaborate with warehouse and logistics team to encourage use of in-stock product s within sale proposals. Verify project availability with purchasing in conjunction with Design and Engineering department.

  • E ducate sales staff regarding process, protocol, communications , and best practices as they relate to EENYs recipe, assist with issues as applicable.

  • Pair with Design & Engineering, define our go-to product mix and systems approach, and ensure that our proposal templates, product database, and job opportunities meet these standards. Use applicable stock items when possible.

  • Maintain the product database in ConnectWise, updating product selection and pricing, ensuring that entries are properly formatted . Verify that data fields accessed by different EENY teams contain the information required .

  • LMA our CRM for client information and accuracy, verify that there are no duplicate entries and data is being constantly updated and audited regularly.

  • Serve as an information al resource for across all departments internally , assisting with proposal scopes, product offerings, profit margins, vendor sources, and institutional knowledge.

  • Routinely engage with other department heads to address the impact of the Sales department’s policies downstream, brainstorm solutions based on feedback from the field.

  • Manage sales staff team including conducting annual performance reviews, assisting with oversight, goal assignments, and department management.

  • Maintain relationships with vendors and local manufacturer’s representatives.

  • Research and share training opportunities for the sales team and other departments when appropriate.

  • Directly engage with clients to explain details of our proposals, products, or processes if the Salesperson is unavailable.

  • Understand the importance of deadlines and adhere to the needs of the salesperson and other departments.

  • Cover for Purchasing Manager when applic able . C reat e and issu e purchase orders and follow up with vendors on order/ship confirmations.

  • Serve as an Estimator as needed , writing proposals in Sell , champion sales software and act the subject matter expert for proposals.

  • Create and maintain sales pipeline and sales quotas. Track salespersons quotas, forecast goals and set expectation for sales direct reports. Report sales revenue goal progress via scorecard.

  • Assist with the research, marketing and outreach associated with determining new streams of revenue.

  • Contribute to marketing communications and campaigns to increase opportunities for sales staff.

  • Manage social media platforms and marketing needs. Assign to Sales team members as applicable.

    Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent . Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

  • 7-10 years of experience in the residential CI or consumer AV industry.

  • Experience with ConnectWise a plus.

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to handle multiple pr iorities and processes simultaneously.

  • Supervisory and management experience required.
