Duties: American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, Inc. (JDC) seeks a Development Officer, Senior, for its NY, NY office (partial telecommuting permitted) to organize events and campaigns to raise money and donations for JDC. Serve as front-line fundraiser and primary liaison to select Jewish Federations in North America to maintain funding for priority programs and increase unrestricted giving. Actively engage in stewarding JDC institutional (i.e. Federations and Foundations) and individual donors. Research, identify, and engage prospective donors to support JDC’s fundraising strategy and long-term growth priorities. Solicit donations of $10,000 level and above. Increase awareness of JDC’s goals and work through planning and organizing speaking events, parlor meetings, and staff missions. Maintain records of donor information and record all major contracts and activities with donors and prospective donors according to company procedures. Must be available to travel up to 5 times/year domestically or internationally for training and donor engagement.Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree in Non-Profit Management, Fundraising, Jewish Professional Leadership, or a related field, plus five (5) years experience in a role focused on education or outreach in the Jewish community. Must have three (3) years of experience in the following: fundraising, or advising the C-suite on fundraising, at a Jewish non-profit organization; working in and forming an established network of contacts with the New York and global Jewish philanthropic landscape and funding community; working with Board of Directors; building and maintaining relationships with major individual donors in the Jewish Community and Jewish Federations across the U.S.; facilitating leadership programs with educational content that engages, inspires and transitions donors to become leaders of the organization; using donor management systems/technology; and public presentations with a focus on donor audiences. Must have one (1) year of experience soliciting and closing major gifts (those of at least $10,000) for a Jewish non-profit organization.
