Point72 Asset Management, L.P. has an opening for a Data Scientist, L/S Equity in New York, NY. May work 1 day per week at home.Analyze financial and economic data using data visualization skills. Design, build and maintain data tools/products to analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to energy sector. Build automated processes for reviewing and analyzing diverse sets of information. Lead communication with third-party vendors. Design, build, maintain tools/products and analyze data using SQL, Python and/or R. Document all work and train teammates on use of work products. Partner with Compliance on data sources, permissibility of systems and analytics. Must possess at least a master’s degree or equivalent in Data Science, Analytics, Operations Research or a related field and at least 4 years of experience as a Quantitative Researcher, Data Scientist, or a related role at a buy-side financial institution. Must also possess the following: at least 4 years of experience using Python, SQL, Databricks and Apache Airflow to interpret data and build data applications; at least 4 years of experience with Cloud computing including AWS; at least 4 years of experience with developing data platforms including ETL, monitoring and outlier detection; at least 4 years of experience with sourcing, researching, and analyzing alternative data in equity investment; at least 4 years of experience performing fundamental research, including experience using Bloomberg; at least 4 years of experience forecasting and analyzing economic and market trends; at least 4 years of experience with data visualization using Tableau, Power BI and Dash; at least 4 years of experience using advanced statistics, time series and predictive modeling; and demonstrable knowledge of commodities and the oil and gas sector.
