Job Title: Data Governance Sr Lead Analyst ((SVP) C14)

Location: NYC, NY -10013 (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week)

Position type: 5+ months with high possibility of extension/Conversion as FTE

Job Description:

The Data Governance Sr Lead Analyst position’s responsibilities include but are not limited to ensuring that prioritized data quality issues are defined and remediated, that data requirements and controls are implemented, and that focus remains on the scope and commitments of each phase of the Risk Consent Order Data Quality Plans to ensure proof of Risk Reduction. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of risk processes, systems and reporting, the Client Data Operating Model, and a solid conceptual/practical grounding in Enterprise Risk Management. Requires excellent data analysis skills, in addition to strong presentation / communication skills required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level.

Responsibilities

• Directs key initiatives within the business through the collection, analysis, review, reporting, documentation and communication of business needs and requirements.

• Manages resource allocation of work on key projects/initiatives.

• Deals with complex and highly variable issues with substantial potential business impact.

• Applies ingenuity and creativity to problem analysis and resolution in complicated and/or novel situations.

• Advises or coach to new or lower-level personnel in the business processes and procedures of area supported.

• Provides in-depth and sophisticated analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions.

• Influences strategic functional decisions through advice, counsel or provided services that have direct impact on the business.

• Utilizes excellent communication skills required to influence and negotiate with senior leaders (across functions); may communicate with external parties.

• Requires complex judgments and solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives.

• In-depth analysis with interpretive thinking required.

• Applies ingenuity and creativity to problem analysis and resolution in complicated and/or novel situations.

• Manages staff resource and allocation of work within the team/project.

• Potentially Interact with regulators.

• Leads enterprise-wide working group meetings on performance metrics.

• Captures requirements, develop delivery plans and manage the entire lifecycle of metrics and report production.

• Develops SLAs, initiate and lead process reengineering to continually drive efficiencies across the management information process.

• Additional responsibilities may also include senior relationship management, coordinate communications multiple workstreams and organizations.

• Primary interface for enterprise level, operational and executive management reporting design, and delivery.

• Performs other duties and functions as assigned.

• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding clients and its assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in a related role.

• At least 5+ years of experience in banking and financial services industry, information technology, and data governance. Experience includes supporting data quality initiatives, aligning business processes with data, implementing technology solutions, supporting data standards/policies, and data-related issue management and remediation efforts.

• Subject matter expert in more than one related data management area.

• Experience with data management processes, tools, and applications, including process mapping and lineage toolsets.

• Strong knowledge of structured/unstructured databases, data modeling, data management, rapid/iterative development methodologies, and data governance tools.

• Proficiency in diagramming & Presentation tools required.

• Ability to communicate (both verbal and written) issues in a clear and timely manner to build trusting partnership a wide variety of audiences and stakeholders.

• Self-motivated, highly focused, detail oriented as well as a team player with high energy levels and the desire to learn and progress within the company.

• Knowledge of business analysis procedures and concepts and basic knowledge of other technical areas.

• Demonstrated project management expertise.

• Substantial experience in a senior leadership role.

• Advanced understanding of technology and industry trends and infrastructure platforms.

• Client focused, able to operate as partner to senior business stakeholders.

Job Description:

The Business Data Analyst role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate definition and execution of Risk requirements according to the Client Data Governance Policy (CDGP) and Standard (CDGS). The role reports into the Enterprise Risk Data Layer (ERDL) Lead in Enterprise Risk Management’s Data & Technology. The Business Data Analyst position’s responsibilities include but are not limited to identifying gaps in data quality controls to reduce risk, partner and collaborate with ERM’s data consumers on data quality remediation challenges; document data flows, processes, and procedures; ensuring data requirements are implemented, and that focus remains on the scope and commitments of each phase of the Risk Consent Order Data Quality Plans to ensure proof of Risk Reduction. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of risk processes, systems and reporting, the Client Data Operating Model, and a solid conceptual/practical grounding in Enterprise Risk Management. Responsibilities:

Drive execution of critical aspects of data governance policy and data strategy. · Partner with data consumers to agree on the scope of critical data quality challenges and ensure that the data operating model is implemented to reduce data risk. · Remediate issues partnering with various business and technology functions. Help build a deep, comprehensive, and documented understanding of Client’s key data, data processes, and data flows. Partner with business data owners required to ensure maintenance of key artifacts and overall data quality improvements. · Lead the consolidation of disparate information about the data, as well as ensure a sustainable understanding of how data flows through operational and analytic platforms and assist Data owner in institutionalizing an enhanced understanding of information assets at an aggregate level, data concept level, and data attribute level. · Partner with other colleagues within Client businesses and various technology teams to build the knowledge and assess the current state of the businesses’ information infrastructure. · Lead initiatives to reduce Client’s data management risks, as well as support the cultural shift toward active data management and ownership. · Identify data quality “hot spots” or points of exposure. Determine strategies to improve data quality controls and monitoring routines to de-risk points of data quality vulnerabilities using CDO approved tools and solutions. · Create or support the creation of data and system flow documentation and process maps. Work to align other key data capabilities including metadata repositories, data dictionaries, data lineage, business process maps, and training materials with the data and system process flows. · Institute and manage change management processes related to data and system flow documentation and related data governance procedures. · Identify and support opportunities continuously to streamline and simplify the execution of data transformation initiatives and data capabilities. · Be a trusted and informed advisor/partner to regional teams and lines of business staff members. · Prepare and present status updates and solutions to stakeholders, business partners, and technology teams in a succinct manner to drive decisions and actions. · Lead meetings and working sessions to solve issues, challenges, and risks by factoring input from partners and diverse points of view. · Promote “data as an asset” and influence culture change to make the organization increasingly more data driven. · Consult with business clients to determine system functional specifications and provides user and operational support. · Identify and communicate risks and impacts, considering business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment. · Advise or coach to new or lower-level analysts and work as a team to achieve business objectives, performing other duties and functions as assigned. · Assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Clientgroup’s clients and its assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency. · Interpret data and analyzing results using statistical techniques to identify trends or patterns in complex data sets. · Understand current data processes and business requirements to help determine new and innovative ways to provide end-to-end solutions.

Qualifications:

  • 6-8 years of relevant experience in business analysis or systems analysis

  • 5+ years’ experience Data Analysis/ Data Investigation.

  • 3+ years’ experience as Technical Business Analyst.

  • At least 5+ years of experience in banking and financial services industry, information technology, and data governance. Experience includes supporting data quality initiatives, aligning business processes with data, implementing technology solutions, supporting data standards/policies, and data-related issue management and remediation efforts.

  • Experience with data management processes, tools, and applications, including process mapping and lineage toolsets.
