JPMorgan Chase Data Governance Director in New York, New York
The Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) at JPMorgan Chase is responsible for accelerating the firm's data and analytics journey. This includes ensuring the quality, integrity, and security of the company's data, as well as leveraging this data to generate insights and drive decision-making. The CDAO is also responsible for developing and implementing solutions that support the firm's commercial goals by harnessing artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to develop new products, improve productivity, and enhance risk management effectively and responsibly.
As a Data Governance Director within JPMorgan Chase's Firmwide Chief Data Office, you will play a pivotal role in the Chief Data and Analytics Office. Your responsibilities will include forging robust relationships with senior leaders in the Chief Data Officer (CDO), regulatory, compliance, and internal audit organizations. You will also support responses to regulatory and external examinations and engagements of the Firmwide Chief Data Office, as well as Second Line of Defense (Compliance) reviews and Third Line of Defense internal audits.
Job responsibilities:
Lead the coordination of responses to regulatory examinations / engagements, Second Line of Defense (Compliance) reviews, and Third Line of Defense internal audits
Lead and manage delivery of projects to address regulatory matters
Partner with Lines of Business and Corporate Functions to ensure consistent regulatory responses and ensure projects align to Firmwide policies, standards and procedures.
Synthesize stakeholder feedback to drive clear and consistent responses across engagements
Proactively address questions by timely communicating with responsible stakeholders (e.g., Data Risk leads, Chief Data Officers); draft responses and make informed suggestions
Respectfully and effectively articulate arguments supporting the positions and activities of the Firmwide Chief Data Office using objective evidence and persuasive reasoning
Proactively communicate suggestions on how to evolve Chief Data Office activities and governing documents (e.g., firmwide Data Risk Management Standard) based on the content of the examinations and engagements
Create summarized materials to support senior / executive presentations and reporting
Partner with Technology, Risk, Business Operations, Control organizations, and LOB/CF CDOs
Stay informed of regulatory and industry developments impacting data governance / management
Manage team to support the volume and frequency of examinations and support other Firmwide Chief Data Office initiatives, as needed
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
15+ years' experience with Bachelor's degree with in data/risk management, business controls, or technology controls.
Strong understanding of regulatory landscape
Ability to apply critical thinking and logical / structured framework to shape the program's approach
Knowledge of and experience with regulator's exam processes and regulatory matters
Proven experience delivering data-related projects to meet business needs and/or address regulatory matters
Strong understanding of control and risk management concepts with the ability to evaluate controls, create procedure and process flows in conjunction with business and control partners
Data governance subject matter expertise required
Experience managing a team across various locations
Excellent senior stakeholder management skills and experience coordinating across a wide range of functional teams
Exceptional communication and presentation skills; ability to articulate complex issues concisely, communicating effectively and comfortably with senior stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
- Master's degree preferred but not required.
