This role can be based out of our Sunnyvale, San Francisco or New York office.

In this role, we are looking for a savvy communications professional to drive our U.S. consumer communication program focused on helping people leverage LinkedIn as part of their professional lives. This person will be responsible for consumer storytelling tied to the latest cultural trends driving the world of work. The candidate must have an appetite for creative storytelling and an understanding of how social media integrates with traditional communications.

This person will be responsible for the LinkedIn Career Expert program which works hand in hand with LinkedIn senior executives and the top-tier press to help professionals leverage LinkedIn. This includes advising and activating executives’ online presence, speaking engagements and media opportunities.

This person will also be responsible for opportunistic and large scale communications programs, support peers with consumer storytelling across the business and strategize as well as own storytelling for consumer partnerships with media, talent and third party companies. This person will be involved in all stages of the consumer communications initiatives -- from concept formulation, cross-functional planning, message development, media relationships, execution and results-oriented reporting and must be a good collaborator and exhibit a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive opportunistic and large scale consumer comms programs.

  • Deliver top-tier consumer press results with top-tier press outlets including securing and managing national broadcast segments.

  • Have well-developed media relationships and an ability to build and grow new relationships.

  • Oversee our U.S. consumer career expert program which serves as the liaison for our senior most consumer spokespeople, managing their press opportunities, original content and social presence.

  • Understand insights and data and drive consumer sentiment data programs with top-tier media and influencers.

  • Create proactive/reactive content, including messaging, newsletters and Q&As for announcements, partnerships, events and profiles.

  • Own internal reporting for consumer communications.

  • Assist and direct consumer communications agency in execution.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with and provide expert communications counsel to internal and external partners.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with editorial, product, social media and partnerships.

  • Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to monitor and analyze industry news and trends.

  • Basic social media skills on how to drive on platform performance and an ability and openness to learn.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years’ experience in external communications, with a focus on media relations and writing

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications :

  • A passion for pop culture and larger workplace trends to help inform the places where LinkedIn and our spokespeople should be appearing.

  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and unstructured, deadline-oriented environment.

  • Comfort with data-driven storytelling focused on consumer sentiment workplace trends

  • Possess a high degree of integrity and sense of confidentiality.

  • Ability to demonstrate maturity and good judgment at all times.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail and an innate ability to stay on top of multiple projects at once.

  • Must have very strong project management and decision-making skills.

  • Willing to travel if necessary.

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Expert PowerPoint/Google Slides skills.

  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and unstructured, deadline-oriented environment.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.

The pay range for this role is $90,000 to $141,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
