HPD is entrusted with fulfilling these objectives through the goals and strategies of “Housing Our Neighbors: A Blueprint for Housing and Homelessness,” Mayor Adams’ comprehensive housing framework. To support this important work, the administration has committed $5 billion in new capital funding, bringing the 10-year planned investment in housing to $22 billion the largest in the city’s history. This investment, coupled with a commitment to reduce administrative and regulatory barriers, is a multi-pronged strategy to tackle New York City’s complex housing crisis, by addressing homelessness and housing instability, promoting economic stability and mobility, increasing homeownership opportunities, improving health and safety, and increasing opportunities for equitable growth.

Your Team:

The Office of Asset and Property Management (APM) leads the agency’s effort to protect the City’s investment in affordable housing and ensure that properties remain stable and affordable over the long-term. APM actively monitors the performance and regulatory compliance of projects sponsored, supervised, and owned by the City, and connects people to affordable housing opportunities.

The Office of Asset and Property Management (APM) is composed of five divisions, which includes the Divisions of Asset Management, Property Management & Client Services, Housing Supervision, Housing Opportunities & Program Services, and Co-op Readiness & Technical Services.

The Division of Co-op Readiness & Technical Services (CRTS) oversees three (3) programs within the Office of Asset and Property Management (APM). The programs are the Tenant Interim Lease (TIL) program which trains and assists tenant associations in city-owned buildings to develop economically self-sufficient low-income cooperatives; the Technical Services program, which provides technical resources to the divisions within APM; and the newly formed Lead Unit which is responsible for assuring lead-safety in city-owned buildings within APM.

Your Impact:

As a Compliance Coordinator in the TIL program, you will be responsible for providing quality record management and updates and data entry for the tenants that reside in the program’s 71 buildings.

Your Role:

Your role as the Compliance and Operations will be to manage documentation such as financial reports, additional information requests and all compliance documentation for Program. Your role is critical in the support, direction and follow up on all submitted requests from TIL Financial Reviewers as well as submitted documentation from tenants.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Review and record incoming financial reports from TIL TAs to ensure completeness

  • Assist TIL Building Coordinators and Financial Reviewers to obtain missing documentation

  • Assist the compliance team to review TA compliance statuses

  • Attend scheduled meetings, prepare meeting agendas and take meeting notes

  • Assist Compliance Unit to prepare compliance and operations notifications/mailings

  • Assist Compliance Unit to prepare monthly compliance reminders, corrective action plan and termination notices for TIL TAs for mailing

  • Assist Compliance Unit to prepare for mailing general TIL TA notifications

  • Scan compliance notifications and manage excel tracker to record all actions

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word. Excel, Outlook,Powerpoint)

  • Ability to learn new computer software (Archibus, Access)

  • Efficient Time Management skills; Team Player, Reliable and Responsive

  • Typing ability of 35+ WPM; great organizational skills; Self Starter

Qualifications

  1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or

  2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or

  3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
