FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing at Hunter College is the flagship nursing school of the City University of New York and prepares nurses for 21st century practice in complex urban environments with diverse populations. The School of Nursing invites applications for Clinical Professor positions.

These are one-year term appointment with the possibility of annual renewals based on satisfactory performance. The Clinical Professor title is a full-time, non-tenure-bearing faculty title. An individual in the title of Clinical Professor is eligible for annual reappointment, but may not serve in the title for more than a total of seven years.

We are particularly interested in those with specialization in health equity, psychiatric mental health, adult/gerontology, community engagement and/or advanced nursing practice.

Additional duties include responsibility for committee and department assignments, administrative, supervisory, and other functions as assigned.

Performs teaching and research duties, which may include clinical instruction. Clinical Professors are highly-experienced practitioners or teachers who hold full-time, non-tenure track positions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D., DNP, or other doctoral degree in Nursing or related field . If earned doctorate is not in nursing, must have a master’s degree in nursing. Prefer at least 5 years of advanced practice clinical experience, preferably in health centers serving under-resourced communities. New York State license as a registered nurse and prefer New York State Nurse Practitioner Licensure (Adult/Gerontology, Family, or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner). Will demonstrate strong leadership and mentoring abilities, and exemplify a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The applicant’s scholarship and academic teaching experience should align with the school mission of educating nurses to work effectively in under-resourced communities.

COMPENSATION

Salary range: $100,329 - $129,409, commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
