The flow Rates Strats team develops pricing and risk models and systems to support trading, in government bonds, IR-Swaps, Bond Futures, SOFR Futures, and ETFs.

PrimaryResponsibilities

Flow Rates is seeking an experienced candidate in New York to contribute to the research and development of flow product risk/pricing/operational efficiency. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Ongoing optimization of existing trader tools and EoD Processes;
  • Collaboration with trading desks to identify commercial opportunities;
  • Continued monitoring, calibration and optimization of trading parameters;
  • Collaboration with IT to co-ordinate critical delivery and contribute to the sales/trading workflow;
  • Co-ordination with risk functions to ensure the desk operate within risk-limits.

Skills required(essential)

  • 5 years of experience in flow quant/research role;
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics or Computer Science;
  • Knowledge of Fixed Income products;
  • Strong technical skills in object-orientated programming;
  • Strong statistical /econometric skills and ability to analyze large datasets;
  • Strong communication skills (the role requires effective collaboration across a range of groups and regions);
  • Ability to present complex issues clearly, both verbally and in writing;
  • Ability to work thoughtfully, independently and manage multiple projects.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $200,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
