Citigroup Business Development, Citi Velocity – Vice President in New York, New York

Located on the Trading Floor, we are looking to hire a Business Development lead that will be responsible for executing Citi Velocity strategy globally. The candidate will work with both external clients, internal sales, trading and structuring desks to develop and commercialize Citi’s proprietary analytics, data, research, and market commentary. This person will also be responsible for driving product development, working alongside management, sales and trading to determine priority projects, and working with the Citi Velocity development team to deliver products to clients.

This position is most suitable for self-starters who’d like exposure to Markets products and broad internal exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development and Strategy

  • Develop platform functionality for institutional clients (hedge funds, asset managers, corporates). Support a business development strategy aiming at substantially expanding Citi's client network and maximizing associated revenue.

  • Develop Citi Velocity derivative product for planned expansion to Corporate client segment.

  • Analyze competitive positioning of platform and recommended platform enhancements based on industry need and client feedback.

  • Facilitate partnerships with industry leaders such as Moody’s Analytics (CLO eBidding) and BlackRock iShares (ETF Pre-Trade Tool) to bring investment information and analytics to the platform.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of Sales client meetings and outreach. Track results and create reports with data analysis and other feedback. Report findings and results to management and sales.

  • Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant stakeholders are informed of platform updates and new functionality. Champion the brand internally making sure the business understands the platform and its goals.

  • New Business

  • Build the bank: cross-sell products and services across business lines by marketing how to leverage the global Citi network while showcasing local market expertise.

  • Partner with Prime Brokerage and Markets Client Management on core account strategy to win new business.

  • Develop data trial concept for prospect accounts.

  • Data and Analytics

  • Enhance data infrastructure to deliver Citi Velocity data API service to systematic hedge funds and strategic data clients.

  • Develop Usage Metrics Dashboard in compliance with Need to Know infrastructure. Lead strategic reviews to ensure platform usage and data consumption is consistent with trading revenue by business.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of experience at a financial services firm/sell-side organization.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • Must have or be able to obtain licenses required, Series 7 and 63.

  • Good understanding of institutional client needs and experience dealing directly with senior stakeholders. Ability to develop and manage relationships with highly sophisticated individuals.

  • Self-motivated, willingness to drive platform value independently.

  • Passion for and interest in technology and analytics.

  • Clear and concise communication - executive presence for dealing with internal senior management as well as technical savvy to work with developers. Ability to confidently present in a board room setting.

$129,840.00 - $194,760.00
