Citigroup Banking, Escrow and Custody Product Risk Manager in New York, New York
The Product Risk Manager is a critical management level position responsible for managing controls to monitor a broad range of Product Management employees and Deposit and Custody products, setting strategy and providing project support from a risk perspective. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the coordination of risk-focused analysis of product plans, strategies, and tactics through product life-cycles in coordination with the broader Product Management team. The overall objective of this role is to ensure that existing and new product offerings meet the stringent risk-mitigation objectives which are proscribed by Citi's Policies, Standards and Procedures.
Review existing Products and Procedures to ensure evolving risk standards are being met; edit and create new procedures to close identified gaps
Collaborate on strategic program roadmaps, development, launches, and marketing. Lead/Advise on all Product Approval requests.
Manage day-to-day risk mitigation for core products such as product delivery, client experience, and client communication strategies as well as help the team prioritize, negotiate, and remove obstacles to achieve business results within acceptable risk bands.
Develop plans and execute functional strategies for a country, group of countries, region, or business requiring coordination and integration across units as well as provide input into strategic decisions affecting job family or function within region or business
Manage Issues and Corrective Action Plans for the CPB products and services, including escalations. Represent CPB Product Risk on cross-business issues and escalations.
Oversee all aspects of product-risk-related projects and initiatives; participate in gap analysis, requirements definition, testing, and implementation.
Provide deliverable and conduct walkthroughs as requested by Compliance (ICRM), Internal Audit, regulatory bodies and other control functional partners. Contribute to positive audit results with thorough preparation and understanding of detailed requirements and processes.
Develop procedures, training decks, and governance slides to present to internal audiences including senior management and client-facing staff. Perform analytics to support proposals, and present results to cross-functional and global workgroups.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
6-10 years of relevant experience
Experience in product maintenance, product development, and/or analytics
Experience leading cross-functional teams to define and achieve high value business goals
Working knowledge of market dynamics, products, and competitive climate
Demonstrated project management skills
Ability to work unsupervised and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Demonstrated analytical skills, including strong spreadsheet management. SQL or Access basics preferred.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Demonstrated influencing skills
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Master’s degree preferred
