Company HQ: 4 World Trade Center, 150 Greenwich Street, New York, NY 10007Job Title: Backend Engineer II Location: Telecommuting role to be performed anywhere in the U.S. Job Duties: Design, develop, document, and maintain backend services and applications using modern technologies and frameworks, including Java, Python, and Cloud Platforms, such GCP/AWS, RESTful web services; database technologies, such as RDBMS and NoSQL; Message Queues, such as Kafka, RabbitMQ; and caching technologies, such as Redis. Design, develop and maintain backend services and reports that provide insights to customers in the podcast publishing and advertising space. Build, maintain, and enhance backend component libraries and services by collaborating with a multi-functional team of engineers, designers, writers, and product managers. Collaborate within an Agile Scrum team, participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews, actively contributing to the team's success. Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to address complex problems in real-time and keep applications and services operational, performant, and highly available. Participate in activities to troubleshoot, identify, and enhance team’s processes to ensure high levels of productivity and efficiency. *Telecommuting role to be performed anywhere in the U.S.Position requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field and three (3) years of experience in job offered or related role OR Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field and five (5) years of experience in job offered or related role. Must have three (3) years of experience (or 5 with Bachelor’s) with: Object-oriented programming; Web and non-web services development, using technologies like REST, RPC or GraphQL; Cloud platforms, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure; Database technologies.
