Plans, organizes, and conducts highly independent research with approval from the principal investigator; drafts, refines, and submits animal protocols and amendments; designs, tests, and evaluates methodologies for research projects; analyzes, organizes, and interprets collected data; collaborates with the principal investigator to publish findings in professional journals; oversees the purchase of new equipment for research projects; under the direction of the principal investigator, manages overall scientific operations of the laboratory; supervise laboratory personnel.

Under the guidance of the principal investigator, the incumbent provides indirect supervision for the activities of graduate students and junior scientists.
The incumbent manages the budget for their awarded grant directly and oversees other budgets under the guidance of the principal investigator.
- Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field, with two or more years of relevant postdoctoral or industry experience.
- Strong publication record over the past five years.
- Proficiency in cell manipulation and rodent studies are preferred.
- Candidates with awarded grants are preferred.
