Job Description

  • Manage the production, evaluation and verification of estimates for projects of varying size and scale.

  • Produce estimates and negotiate contracts across the spectrum of projects using MEP project.

  • Ensure client objectives are met through the delivery of an effective service.

  • Manage commissions to achieve great outcomes for our clients.

  • Provide estimate and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost reports.

  • Participate with post contract cost variances and the change control processes, where applicable refer major changes to line manager.

  • Manage cost checks and carry out evaluations on larger projects, and ensure timely and accurate cost checking, and valuation process.

  • Produce monthly cost reports and present to client.

  • Perform cost risk analysis and provide input into value engineering; negotiate and approve final accounts.

  • Maintain central feedback and learning on cost estimating from prospects and projects and contribute to updating of best practices in estimating.

  • Support estimates with benchmarked data to validate proposed costs.

  • Understand installation and labor variables through use different estimating tools and application of union or other rates.

  • Provide strategic input and direction to the team in the delivery of our services.

  • Prepare resource estimates, client proposals and balance the day to day client needs with the available resources, providing forecasts of resource needs.

  • Advise clients on value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.

  • Manage and lead team in delivering a commission and general line management.

  • Manage revenue, team resource and priorities to ensure that client expectations are met.

  • Develop business with existing and new clients, and cross-selling.

  • Present results verbally and in writing.

  • Perform the foregoing using Microsoft Office, MS Project, CostX, and other computer software.

RELATED OCCUPATION:

Senior Consultant (Cost Management) or any other job title performing the following job duties:

  1. Performing benchmarking and cost estimation from drawings and specifications;

  2. Evaluating change orders & cost proposals and monitoring the payment application process;

  3. Negotiating and reconciling contractor budgets and contracts;

  4. Creating and maintaining unit rates for each construction element;

  5. Determining price alternatives to reduce costs;

  6. Reviewing and verifying contractor and subcontractor pricing, costs and proposals;

  7. Performing cost audits;

  8. Tracking and reporting on cost savings;

  9. Conducting background research and benchmark against historical data;

  10. Completing Take Off (Measurement of Quantities) reports.

JOB TIME : Full Time

SALARY RANGE: $183,000 to $200,000/year

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 7 years of experience in the job offered or 7 years of experience in the Related Occupation
