BMO Financial Group Associate, Corporate Banking- Power, Utilities and Infrastructure in New York, New York
Unique opportunity to join the Power, Utilities and Infrastructure Corporate Banking coverage team. In this position you will be a key member of the team responsible for providing transaction execution support over a variety of transaction types (Corporate Financing, Acquisition Financing, Bridge Financing), while also supporting client coverage by assisting with loan origination / structuring and cross-sell pitches (Treasury Products, Commodities, Trade Finance, Interest Rate Hedging, Leasing, etc.). You will work closely with the Investment Banking coverage team to provide creative solutions to both current and prospective clients (Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Leverage Finance).
Role responsibilities include :
Supporting transaction execution for a diverse portfolio of Power, Utilities & Infrastructure clients
Preparing credit documentation (i.e. applications, memoranda, presentations, etc.) for internal and external stakeholders
Completing due diligence and credit analysis on new and existing client relationships. May include client calls, analysis of business models, and comprehensive review of industry trends and related regulations.
Ability to understand transaction risk factors (credit, market, operational, legal / compliance, etc.) and effectively communicate those aspects to relevant internal stakeholders
Monitoring clients, sectors and regulatory agencies for potential changes that may affect client portfolios and business needs
Generating updated financial models / analyses as business needs and industry requirements dictate
Collaboration with sector coverage partners to create internal and external credit and marketing content
Creation of pitch books for clients with respect to financial solutions and participation in their presentation to clients
Supporting the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
Building effective relationships with internal / external stakeholders
Ability to work independently and regularly handle non-routine situations
Qualifications :
Typically, between 2-4 years of relevant experience in Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, or a credit analysis / investment role focused on the execution of financial transactions
Experience supporting the origination of financings, include revolving, term and bridge credit facilities. Specific experience doing so within the Power, Utilities and Infrastructure sectors is a plus.
Deal execution and / or project management skills – ability to manage more than one live transaction / project / initiative at a time
Exceptional skills in quantitative analytics, financial modeling and credit analysis
Ability to create and deliver professional presentations
Fluency in financial computer applications and database management tools
Undergraduate degree with high academic achievement. Focus area of finance, economics, or accounting preferred.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
