The Assistant Vice President Risk Analytics and Modelling role plays a vital role in the measurement and assessment of financial and non-financial risks for the bank. We develop sophisticated models to provide analytical solutions and tools to quantify key risk metrics used to inform business decisions and meet regulatory and financial reporting obligations. This role will require innovation and thinking “outside-the-box” to explore new ideas and modelling techniques which can react to shifts in economic indicators, consumer behaviors, supply chains, market sentiments and customer business strategies. As an Assistant Vice President Risk Analytics and Modeling you will be responsible for development and enhancement of methodologies and models for estimating credit risk parameters (Probability of Default, Loss Given Default and Exposure At Default) for all relevant portfolio segments in a manner compliant with internal and regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel II Internal Ratings Based - Approach, Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review, Current Expected Credit Losses, etc.) and robust enough to support practical business decisions (includes reviewing, analyzing and documenting model development/implementation process).

As our Assistant Vice President Risk Analytics and Modelling you will:

  • Support wider team effort to develop credit risk models

  • Support model migration/ implementation

  • Support ad-hoc analysis to support business and other stakeholder requirements

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $100,000.00 and $150,000.00.

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

You'll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Expertise in quantitative analytics and problem solving skills

  • Credit risk experience

  • Computer programming

  • Knowledge of credit risk and portfolio management

  • Knowledge of wholesale credit & lending business and products

  • Experience in execution of modelling projects aligned with regulatory expectations

  • Python programming is preferred. R/MATLAB/SAS is acceptable

  • Statistical Modelling

  • Data scientist

  • M.Sc., MA, MBA or Ph.D in a quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, engineering, statistics, finance, etc.)
